For Mac creators
Scrolls when you talk. Stops when you don't.
Tellie is the Mac teleprompter that listens. It follows your voice word by word, so the script keeps up with you.

How it works
Three steps. Then talk.
-
Open a script
Pick a
.mdfile (formatting kept),.txt, or.rtf. The prompter pops out automatically. -
Click the microphone
Tellie starts listening.
-
Talk
The script follows your voice. You stay on camera.
Plus a dozen extras you'd pay for.
The basics above are everything you need. These are the Pro features, on the house if you grab Tellie now. Share it with your friends to own forever.
Voice-follow scrolling
Tellie matches the words you actually say to the words on screen, and scrolls to keep up. Speed up, slow down, ad-lib. The script follows you.
Reads ~50 languages
English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Mandarin, Hebrew, and ~45 more. Pick a language in Settings and Tellie listens to that one. All on-device, in any of them.
Voice-activated scrolling
Prefer the simpler version. Talk to play, pause to stop. No remote, no foot pedal, no cousin clicking the spacebar off camera.
Invisible to Zoom and screen recorders
Tellie sits above your other windows but doesn't show up in screen sharing or recordings. Your viewers see you. They don't see your script.
Live pace report
After each take you get words per minute, longest pause, and where you stumbled back. Your tiny coach in your corner silently helping.
Multi-script playlists
Point Tellie at a folder. It lines up every script in order. Arrow keys step through them. Record a week of takes in one sitting.
Gives your scripts superpowers
Font size, speed, scroll position, all saved per file. Reopen a script tomorrow, you're exactly where you left off. Automatically updates for live script changes.
Read line, where you want it
Center on the screen, or up near the camera at the notch. Your eyes track higher. Viewers read it as direct eye contact. Want a word-by-word highlight too? Toggle it on.
Keyboard everything
Space to play, arrows for speed, plus and minus for size, R to reset. Global shortcuts work from any app, so the keyboard never has to leave your hands.
One-key retake
Flubbed a sentence? Tap ⇧R. Tellie rewinds to the start of the line — without stopping the timer or breaking flow. Read it again. Move on.
Jump between sections
Mark sections with # headings. Press Tab to walk through them, or 1–9 to jump straight to a numbered section. Skip the slow scroll.
Sized for any setup
Drag the prompter into a thin reading strip, a half-screen panel, or anywhere in between. The hotkeys keep working even when the chrome's hidden, so a 60-pixel strip still does everything.
Your voice never leaves your Mac.
On-device speech recognition. Tellie listens locally and forgets the moment you stop.
- On-device speech recognition
- No server, no API, no telemetry
- No accounts, no sign-in

Made by a human
I'm Steve Chazin. I spent three days vibe-coding Tellie this month while visiting my granddaughter in Vermont, sneaking the work in while she napped or was at school. I named the app after her. Her name is Ellie, and she's just learning to read. Same kind of thing I write about every week in AI for the Rest of Us.
